The Wolverine F2D100 35mm Scanner is a unique 35mm film converter for home use. Its claim to fame is that no software or computer is required to convert slides. Conversion is as simple as loading the slides in the scanner and pushing a button, meaning you can take it out of the box and begin using it right away.

All slides are scanned using a 5.0 megapixel sensor and immediately stored to an SD card loaded into the unit. The beauty of this is that you can convert your slides anywhere – for example, while you watch TV. As SD Cards are very cheap and common these days, it is also convenient to use and you should have no trouble finding a suitably sized SD card for $10-$20. Once you have finished scanning your slides, you can simply remove the SD card from the scanner and place it into a card reader connected to your PC. The images can then be moved to your PC for further viewing or enhancement. The Wolverine F2D100 boasts a 5-second image conversion time, meaning that conversions are quick and painless. All images scanned are immediately viewable on the built-in 1.5″ color screen.

Some users have reported that the scans appear over-exposed and with poor contrast. For the price of the scanner, image quality is acceptable. The stand-alone nature is also a nice feature, and they weren’t lying when they said it was easy to use. One big problem we faced was buildup of dust and debris on the lens. Although not visible to the eye, the effects were noticeable as small specks or grains on the final image. A tool was included to clean the lens, but we also recommend using a rocket blaster as a quicker method to remove dust.

As an entry-level unit, the Wolverine F2D100 35mm Camera Film Scanner is a great place to start and certainly very quick if you just wish to rapidly convert slides to digital and are less concerned about quality. However, if you are serious about converting your slides in the best quality possible, look at a higher-priced unit or save your time and pay for a professional service to do it for you. It’s worth it.

The VuPoint Solutions Digital Film and Slide Converter is an affordable entry-level film and slide converter. It features both Mac and Windows compatibility, with USB 2.0 connectivity for maximum image transfer speeds.

This slide converter stands out due to the fact that it offers an integrated SD-card slot, meaning it does not need to be connected to your PC to convert the slides. You can convert slides in front of your TV in the living room, whilst watching your favorite show or movie.

One of the advantages of the VuPoint Solutions Slide Converter is that is is very easy to use. You simply need to insert an SD card (not included), power the unit up, insert some slides or negatives into the holder and then press the button.

Another advantage is the speed at which the VuPoint unit converts slides and photos. Three slides can be inserted into the tray at one time, meaning processing is quick. During testing, it was easy to convert up to 100 slides per hour. The scanning of the image itself is also rapid, taking around 5-10 seconds per slide.

One disadvantage is that this unit does not come with an SD card. As these are so common these days, it is easy to overlook this shortcoming. However, it is less easy to disregard the flimsy slide tray and its fingernail-breaking latch.

Quality of converted slides is good, with most colors represented accurately at 3600dpi. There were some issues with scanning darker slides or slides that were badly deteriorated. The colors on these slides were not represented well. Some users have reported a glitch, where a blue line is added to the bottom of darker image, but we did not encounter this.

Overall, the VuPoint Solutions Digital Film and Slide Converter represents value for money. While conversion quality is good, its ease of use and portability are its greatest selling points. Its biggest downside is the fragile slide tray and annoying latch.

The package includes the slide converter, AC adapter, user manual, USB cable, and Software CD Rom.

A slide converter is a tool that can be used to convert slides to digital images. Typically, a slide converter is used together with a personal computer. The slide converter connects to the computer’s USB port. Slides are placed on the scanning bed of the slide converter. Usually, only one button needs to be pressed to start the conversion process. Software on the PC then downloads the scanned images from the slide converter.

All modern slide converters come with their own scanning software. This allows you to save the converted slide into the image format of your choice. More advanced scanners have extra features, such as white balance, color correction, and image cropping. The best software also has blemish correction capabilities, which can remove imperfections such as dust specks, marks and streaks.

You can save money using a slide converter in your own home. However, some people do not have the time to do this and find that it is beneficial to pay a professional slide converter to do the work for them. Which method you choose is up to you. The important thing is that you convert slides to digital formats before you lose your precious images.

Converting slides to DVD can be an easy process. The first step is to convert slides to a digital format using a digital slide scanner. Once you convert slides to digital, it is then very easy to transfer slides to DVD. There are many available DVD authoring programs to convert your slides to DVD. Often, slides to DVD programs will use terms such as “make slideshow” or “create slideshow”. Once you select this option, you can then instruct the program which images you wish to add to your DVD’s slideshow. Other options will also be available to you, such as the length slides are displayed for, transition effects, and so forth.

If you have already converted slides to digital, they will be in a standard format such as jpeg or tiff. Most slides to DVD programs support these formats, meaning you can add your scanned slides easily and quickly in amongst other pictures. This could be useful if you wish to do a comparison, for example compare old slides with new slides, or position old birthday photos against new birthday photos.

Once you have selected the slides you like, and configured the other options, you can then burn slides to DVD. This will allow your slideshow to be viewed using any standard DVD player, just like a normal DVD movie. These days, it is very easy to convert slides to DVD.

Converting 35mm slides to digital photos in your own home is a relatively easy process thanks to today’s modern technology. To convert slides, you can use a traditional digital scanner, however specially-made products exist that will provide much better results. These products range in price and quality from beginner to professional level.

Their methods of operation vary, but most follow the same general principle. You connect the slide converter to your PC’s USB port. Next, you insert the slide you want to scan into the device. Most devices have one-touch operation, which means that you simply need to press a single button in order to start the conversion process.

All modern slide scanners come with their own scanning software. This allows you to save the converted slide into the image format of your choice. More advanced scanners have extra features, such as white balance, color correction, and image cropping. The best software also has blemish correction capabilities, which can remove imperfections such as dust specks, marks and streaks.

One thing is certain though, no matter which method and device you choose, you will save money if you want to convert slides yourself. Paying a professional slide converting service can be costly and will leave you with a hole in your wallet, especially if you have thousands of slides to convert.

Some people find that to convert 35mm slides in their own home is a fun and enjoyable process. It allows you to revisit old memories, as you can see each individual slide on your computer screen after they have been successfully converted. This can be an exciting and nostalgic experience. Slide converter users often report that after scanning their slides into their PC, they felt the need to contact old friends via E-mail and send them the newly-scanned slides.

Don’t wait until your old slides succumb to decay or fade irreparably. Convert slides to your PC today!
